Music Radar (via Drumtom) has an interview with Ulrich regarding the band’s production process with Rick Rubin for the new album Death Magnetic.
“Rick Rubin is a big fan of keeping things organic. We found out along the way that he’s not much for samples or triggers or anything artificial. He’s a pretty straight-ahead kind of guy – he doesn’t like reverb, he doesn’t like anything on the drums.”
